Welcome to Multiple Studies Skills 6-8 class an extension of Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science! This will be a fun and challenging year. Let’s take a look at what we will be learning and some basic expectations that will help us be successful individually and as a community this year.
What are we going to do in this class?
The learning environment will be responsive to students’ needs, with intensive individual instruction as well as small group instruction focusing on significant individual progress in reading, written language and mathematics . Roosevelt is an International Baccalaureate (IB) School and so learning will be linked to the Areas of Interaction and IB Learner Profile. You will see and interact with the world differently after this year of study.
This course is designed to provide additional support for students in Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science. Emphasis will be placed on conceptual understanding of the grade level standards and students’ individual IEP goals.
Homework: All homework is written on the board and should be written in student planners daily. PLEASE CHECK AND SIGN STUDENT PLANNERS EVERY NIGHT. Students will be expected to complete daily reading and/or writing assignments.
Technology: Technology is a crucial part of this class and will be used often. However, if students choose to misuse and/or vandalize equipment, they will be restricted from its use and asked to complete assignments outside of school.
Citizenship : In order to give each class member equal opportunity and access to the curriculum, all students are expected to follow the class rules and PRIDE expectations.
